    Sharing Forms (VB6)

    I have 5 or 6 projects all in individual folders but collectively in 1 main folder called VB Projects.

    I was editing some code in one project which uses a form (frm1024UnArch) .

    In another project, a form with the same name is also used.
    When editing code in one form, it affects the other form in the other project ?

    Is this correct and how can I in the future prevent this from happening. ??

    Re: Sharing Forms (VB6)

    The central file of each VB6 project is a file with extension .vbp. This is a text file that can be viewed with Notepad (or any other text editor). Among other things, it lists the forms used in the project. For a form stored in the same folder as the .vbp file, there will be a line like this:

    Form=frm1024UnArch.frm

    but for a form stored in another folder, the line looks like this:

    Form=..OtherFolderfrm1024UnArch.frm

    Check the .vbp files carefully to see if they refer to files outside their own folder. If so, you can edit out the path, so that the project will use the form in its own folder.

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh !!

    Yes, there are forms residing in other folders.

    Thanks Hans

    I can sort the problem from here.
