VLOOKUP in multiple ranges in multiple sheets (2000)

Is there a way to create a vlookup formula with reference to multiple sheets? I am having trouble explaining my question with words. Please view my attachment as an example: In my "Total" sheet, I would like to create a vlookup that, based on the name of the sheet, it (the formula) goes to that sheet to pull the data.

You can use the INDIRECT function. For example the formula in B9 becomes:

=VLOOKUP($A$8,INDIRECT(A9&"!A8:B16"),2,FALSE)</code>



You should note that the !A8:B16 part is in quotes to stop it being converted, whereas the A9 part of the formula will be converted to Chris
