    Word links (6)

Every time I open a word link, like the attachment in <post#=395178>post 395178</post#>, I can open the word document in IE but when i click on Back I get the Send to microsoft error window. IE close and restart.
Annything to do without reinstalling Office ? (not sure if it would help)
Using Windows ME and Office 2000 Pro with all upgrades.
    TIA

A workaround (not a real solution):
    Activate Windows Explorer.
    Select Tools | Folder Options...
    Activate the File Types tab.
    Locate Microsoft Word Document (DOC).
Click Edit (in Windows XP: Advanced).
Clear the check box labeled "Browse in same window".
    Click OK twice.
When you click a link to a Word document, it will open in a separate instance of Word, instead of in the browser window.

    Thanks
I can live with that "solution" as I don't want to reinstall.

You could also try a repair install of IE.

    That did it.
I wasn't thinking of an IE problem as the error didn't come up with Excel.
Thanks and welcome to the ribbon club.

    You're welcome. I just hope the ribbon does not become too heavy. <img src=/S/anigrin.gif border=0 alt=anigrin width=19 height=19>
