Did not use pen & pencil, though I did use pen & paper. I saw the pattern emerging very quickly and then mucked up the first reply <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Interesting about 3). You take the 9 at the end and move it to the front and you are done. I must teach my kids this shortcut to multipling numbers by 9.
