Urls visited - no listing (IE 6)

A friend has "lost" the typed URLs that are in a dropdown box below the ADDRESS toolbar. She always was able to type a partial URL and the rest would pop-up. Now that does not happen anymore. When she typed in a new URL - navigated to the site, then went to her home page and retyped the previous URL, it did not come up.

    Has AutoComplete been turned off?

Tools>Internet Options..., Content tab, AutoComplete... button, tick the checkbox next to "Web addresses"

If this was off and she didn't turn it off, perhaps some kind of privacy software has been installed that adjusted the settings?
