    Nested Subtotals (2003)

I have a large complex spreadsheet and have subtotalled a sheet of data. I have left the selection the same and subtotalled again on different columns. I have done this twice so that I have three nested subtotals. My problem is now that on some computers the total for description column and surname column are swapped? The total for one appears where the total for the other should appear.

Has anyone else experienced this? I could send a cut down version of my spreadsheet if it helped.

    Re: Nested Subtotals (2003)

For Excel 97 and 2000, the Knowledge Base mentions that subtotals may appear in the wrong order if "Summary below data" has been turned off in the Subtotals dialog.

For Excel 2003, the problem is supposed to be fixed in Excel 2003 hotfix package: February 29, 2004. As far as I can see, this hotfix is not included in Service Pack 1 for Office 2003 (see Issues that are fixed in Excel 2003 by Office 2003 Service Pack 1)

Thanks very much for this - I will make sure this patch is applied.
