    Can't find cookies (XP Pro)

    Howdy,
I'm trying to locate cookies so I can check on my family's web surfing, however, all I get when I search is the index file. I used to be able to view the cookies and the dates and times--that's what I'm interested in. Any ideas???
    Thanks...

Are you looking in the right folders? Each user has his/her own Temporary Internet Files folder under Windows XP:
Cocuments and Settings<username>Local SettingsTemporary Internet Files
You must display hidden and system files/folders in Explorer in order to see this folder.

If your purpose is to check on "interesting" cookies related to family web surfing, then something like adaware is probably the best tool for the job. This will combine a scan for spyware with a report of "nasty" cookies.

There are a number of programs you can use to display cookies, such as that from the well-known rabbit Karen!

    John

PS I say "rabbit" because in her newsletters she rabbits on, almost interminably, making you lose the will to live...

This could be a privacy feature: maybe you only are supposed to get a friendly view of the cookies when you are logged on as that user?
