Network wizard locks up or fails to complete (Windows XP Professional)

I am trying to setup a simple peer-to-peer network on 2 computers running Windows XP. When I run the network wizard it tries to complete the process but just continues to run after the final "please wait..." screen. I have waited for over and hour, tried the process 3x with the same result. I had this computer set up on another network with a different Workgroup name and it worked perfectly. I feel like there is something I must delete to let the wizard do its thing.
