    Style Sheets (Any Version)

I was looking at the qualifications for a contract yesterday and one of the skill sets/tool sets required was Microsoft Word (including the ability to work with style sheets). Anyone have any insight whether this would mean templates or true XML stylesheets ? The add does not make it clear which it is, and I cannot get in contact with anyone at the contract offerer (?) to clarify. I thought I would see what insight I could find from the Loungers. Thanks in advance for any clarification, insight, etc. <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20>

Without more information, it is impossible to be sure about this, but my guess would be that they mean the ability to work with templates and styles.

    Re: Style Sheets (Any Version)

Back in the old DOS days, as I recall, Word referred to collections of styles as "style sheets," and stored styles in its "Gallery" rather than in templates. The author of your contract specs may be a Word old-timer. I wonder if I know her...

I think it is used interchangeable with using and creating styles

They almost certainly mean just Styles. Perhaps it was written by someone who's used to working in Quark, which calls styles "Stylesheets".
If they were talking XML, they would have said XSLT or Schema

Thanks to all. Helps to clarify some things. Judy, I had forgotten that in historic versions of Word, they used to be called Style Sheets and were kept in Galleries. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Shows how long, I <img src=/S/gramps.gif border=0 alt=gramps width=20 height=20> have been using the product - don't remind me... <img src=/S/nope.gif border=0 alt=nope width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>
