    Change Explorer Default Drive

I have seen this mentioned in "The Lounge" before, but, now that I need it, of course I can't find it.

How do I change the default drive in Windows NT Explorer? Now I have my C drive...but I would like to change that...any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Re: Change Explorer Default Drive

Here's where I really show my ignorance: I do not know where to type in the switch commands? I thank you for the links as they were extremely helpful, but where do I put them?

    Thanks. <img src=/S/doh.gif border=0 alt=doh width=15 height=15>

    Re: Change Explorer Default Drive

    Hi Meredith,
Excuse me if I use too basic steps - but just to make sure you know what I am trying to explain:

If you are wanting to change the Explorer start-up folder from your start menu...Explorer shortcut:

Start | Settings | Taskbar and click on advanced, then navigate to the Explorer shortcut
Right_mouse on the shortcut, then select properties
    Change the 'Target' as required.

If you want different shortcuts to go immediately to different drives, copy the shortcut and rename (eg) Explore-C, Explorer-D etc

The example below should open up Explorer with your C drive only expanded.

Shout if you need more help.
