Back up (Windows XP Home Office 2000)

I am trying to back up my computer using the cd thing. I go to programs>accessories>system tools>backup.
The back up utility comes up.
    The backup wizard comes up.
I tell it to back up everything on my computer.
It says "choose a place to save your backup." I choose F:/ because that's where the cd thing is.
Type a name for the backup. I tried using "backup". I tried using the date. Neither worked.
I got the following error message:
The backup file name could not be used. (F:/backup.bkf) Please ensure it is a valid path and that you have sufficient access.

How do I make the backup work on the cd writer?

You can NOT use MS Backup to a CD.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Thanks. Figured that out after I posted the question. Reinstalled Acronis True Image.
