    CTRL + W (Win XP v.2002 Service Pack 1)

Hitting the CTRL + W button will close the current browser box, which can be good for closing lots of unwanted pop-up ads.

I was wondering if its possible to go another step and tell my computer to activate a CTRL + W when I hit my F3 button, or in other words connecting that keyboard sequence to the F3 button.

Thanks in advance for any help.

To achieve this you would need to obtain software to remap the keyboard. So far as I am aware there is no way to do this natively from within Windows.

Take a look at this MS utility: Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator (MSKLC) Version 1.3.4073.
