    Access to Adobe (2000 )

I have a series of two pdf files (reports from MS Access printed via Adobe)which are combined into one larger pdf file.

The first report/file has a series of pictures equating to items in our stock list, each with a code number below the picture

The second has details of the prices for the various sizes of each item. At the top of each price page, the same picture and code from the cover sheets is also shown.

How can I programatically (sp) in Access create a link between the picture on the front section of the report and the associated detailed price list page eg I want to click on the Picture (or if necessary the code) for code no 703 in the front section and have it go to the same picture/words in the detailed price section. It appears the hyperlink address/subaddress is the way to go as these links should be retained in the print to Adobe process.

I can create these links manually but the final document is 2,500 pages and will be subject to constant recreation as prices change.

Note I cannot go to Word (most forum questions re links seem to involve Word) and create hyperlinks there, as Word will not accept my pictures correctly - I must go straight from Access to Adobe but the advantage is that I can modify Access to have properly formatted links created automatically - if only I knew the format /method required
    Thanks in Advance

Since controls on reports in Access do not react to mouse clicks, there is no way to create a link from a report control in Access. You can't set the hyperlink property of a control, it is read-only on a report. Moreover, I doubt that you would be able to set a link to another part of the yet to be created PDF file.

Thanks for the quick response Hans (I've lost track of how many beers I owe you)
I wasnt actually expecting the links to work in Access but for the format to be carried over to the pdf files and maybe work there

I'm sorry, I don't see how this could be accomplished in Access, but perhaps somebody else has a bright idea <img src=/S/crossfingers.gif border=0 alt=crossfingers width=17 height=16>
