Restricting data entry access (Access 2000, WXP)

I have an application with three users on three separate computers, and only one of them should have the capability of changing data in the back end db.

I could go into the front end program on the two other machines and inactivate all the fields on each form, but I suspect there may be a simpler way -- perhaps make the back end password protected for data entry and read only otherwise? Any recommendations on how to implement this?

The practical way to do it is using Access security. You can find a good tutorial for it on moderator <!profile=WendellB>WendellB<!/profile>'s website. Just follow the links in <post#=393466>post 393466</post#>.

    Thanks Charlotte,

    I'll chase it down.
