    InstallShiled (XP Pro(SP1))

I was making my final preparations prior to installing SP2 and I suddenly notice that my Start menu has sprouted an extra item called Program Updates. Balloon tips identify it as InstallShield. I'm just wondering where this came from and whether anybody else has seen it. I don't use the Start menu that much as I have keyboard shortcuts. It may have come with SP1 of CorelDraw12 since that is the last major update I did. Does anyone know anything about this program?

    Thanks,

    Chris (Hunt)

    I don't know, Chris.
I don't seem to have anything like that around in the start menu. Then again, I don't have Corel Draw. Maybe it is from Corel?

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!

With your mouse over the button, Right click > Properties, and see if it gives a installation path that might give a clue to which program it is associated with.

Thanks, I did as you sugested but got the following path:

    "C:Program FilesCommon FilesInstallShieldUpdateServiceISUSPM.exe"

I ran a check with Ad-Aware 6.0 but my system came up clean. I guess I could ask about it in the CorelDraw 12 forum. If nobody there has it then it gets more suspicious.

    Chris,
Here's link from Installshield Files that Need to Be Installed for Automatic Update Notification. Looks like it is part of an update scheme for some product you installed. You could just execute it and see what happens.

    And further to Joe's link:
This page regarding Installshield shows it is installed in what seems to be the correct folder, and if you click on the About the Update Manager link at the bottom of the page, you should find some FAQ's about it.
