Make Table Hyperlink field (Access 97 SR2 XP Pro)

Got a make table query which concatenates two fields (folder and filename) with a predetermined network path in order to provide hyperlink address to the filename (a tif image).
In the new table design I can quite easily change the field type to Hyperlink and it works fine.
The end effect I am looking for is for the path to become a hyperlink automatically as soon as it is queried. (does this make sense?)
i.e. user enter query parameter and in the resulting table clicks on path/filename to open the image (in default app).

I could set hyperlink on form (use command button on form) but I really want to avoid "extra buttons" and would really want the user to merely click on the file name.

Has anyone come across this requirement before and do they have a solution?

    TIA

is the query run when a button is pressed?

Create an empty table with a hyperlink field, and use an append query instead of a make table to populate it. As soon as the append query has run, the hyperlink will be active. To create a valid hyperlink, put a # character before and after the complete path/filename, e.g. "#C:ImagesTest.jpg#"

Spacer, query runs from command button on switchboard.

Hans, Cheers, worked a treat. By using the append I was able to include any additions to the original table in the new table. Links work fine (after adding #'s).

    Thanks Again
