    Service Pack 2 & MBSA (SP2)

There is an updated version of the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer for compatibility with SP2 security improvements.

Doesn't running the old version detect that it needs to install a new version? It seems to do that when there are new hotfixes available, but that must just be the equivalent of an Update...

If you try to run the older version of MBSA it will notify you of the updated version.

I rarely run MBSA but when I ran it today it managed to find an update (MSXML 4.0 SP2) that was not picked up by either Windows update or Office update.
