Past Special-ing Visio pictures into a Word Docume (2003)

    Hello,

The screenshot shows the options when you "Paste Special" a Visio drawing into a Microsoft Word document.

My question is: which is the best of these 4 options & why?

    Thanks,

    Bob.

If there was a single best option, there would be little point in offering four options, don't you think? It depends on what you want. If you want to be able to edit the drawing in Visio later on, you should paste as a Visio object (the first option). If you want to be able to edit the picture in the Word drawing editor later on, you should paste as a metafile or enhanced metafile. Pasting as a bitmap is probably less attractive, since the picture will become "pixelated" if you resize it later on; if you won't resize it, that won't matter.

You might also find that some choices allow you to use the 'paste link' option, which means the Word document will get updated if the source Visio file changes.
