Internet Service Management Best Practices? (n/a)

    Hello,

I'm trying to brainstorm best-practices for managing a corporate internet connection.

How about these for a start:

    1. Use Quota Management, i.e. don't allow full+open access
    2. Filter sites users can access
    3. Document AUPs
    4. ?

Please advise me what else can be added to this list

How about starting with #3. This will tell you the others, right? For content issues, the filter vendors probably have policy suggestions. As might your lawyers. <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>

Perhaps you should use a firewall, or is this list only oriented toward outbound connections?

Take a look at the security checklists at SANS (http://www.sans.org/) and the organizations to which it links.
