    HTML newbie

    Hi,
I'm now venturing into the world of HTML to jazz up we things. I'd basically be interested in any recommendations for online tutorials and general programming for HTML.

I've also a question about loathe mouse trails............is it possible to do one solely with HTML, not using Javascript?

    Hi Nigel,

I'm sure those who frequent the Web Design board are tired of seeing me post this link <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>, but my favorite tutorial site is: W3Schools.

Even after working with HTML for over 8 years I still find myself visiting their site for great tutorials and quick examples of other things - JavaScript, CSS, XML, XSLT, etc... It's not the most in-depth resource out there, but it makes up for that with detailed examples and a broad range of topics.

As for the mouse trails, that's only possible with JavaScript or other scripting environment (such as Flash).

(I'll bet a quick survey of web users will find that the overwhelming majority are not fans of the mouse trail effect...) <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    Hi Mark,
Thanks for that, I'll take a peruse...................
I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of mousetrails either, I think I was interested because you can, as opposed to actually wanting to!

Along those same lines, there are some books and web sites on aesthetic considerations. I think some have names like the 50 worst web sites in the world. Perhaps easier to find at a bookstore than on the web.

Oh yeah, that's one of the classier ones. I know that some of the others were more "derogatory" in nature (or at least in title). <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
