    Subform problem (2000)

I have a form with a subform. The problem I'm having is that when those entering the data have only "New Data User" permissions, once they enter the subform, the main form considers them to have left the record and they are unable to add additional data on the form or edit the date they just input.

Is there a way around this?

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Eric,

Once you leave the main form Access has added the record to the table and any changes to it are now maintenance (update). Can't you give them update access but control the data being entered by that group with a data entry form. This will allow them only to change the data they entered during that session. Once they close that form and reopen it their data set is empty until they enter something.

Thanks. This is what I originally did, but they also had the ability to look up and edit old records. I may return to that method and just restrict the look-up button to those that we want to be able to edit.
