    Microsoft site (WinXP)

I had just installed WinXP Pro onto my new hard disk and then tried to do the Windows updates. However, I was not able to connect to Microsoft's site at all. Even if I tried Tools, Windows Update, I had the same problem. I had not problem in accessing all other websites. I tried to get to Microsoft's site on another computer and had no problem at all.

The machine that had problem was newly re-formatted an hour ago and had no other program except Windows on it.

    Any one has any ideas?

    Thanks

You will probably have to install a web browser to get to Microsoft.

Error messages (if any) when you try to connect? Can you connect to the site from here ?

Your link works but when I click on either Express Install or Custom Install, then I get no response from the links. If I open the links in a new page, it shows "This page cannot be displayed".

This may be a really bad day to use Windows Update. Service Pack 2 for XP Pro was released to Windows Update today. It is likely to be an extremely heavy day (or maybe two). Partience is the byword.
