    Everest Home Edition

I stumbled across Everest (http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1) whilst attempting to determine the make/model of a mystery modem installed in a PC I was repairing. Having never heard of this software, I was intrigued to see that it could identify hardware attached to the computer that was identified by Windows only as "Simple PCI Communications Controller."

For that reason alone I have added this to my toolkit, although I suspect it is similar to other products like Belarc's Advisor, which I have never used.

Aha! That's why it looked so familiar! Thanks, Tony.
