Outlook 2000 Windows 98 INBOX Question?

In View - Current View - I have checked "Messages" for my View. I use the Folder List View also. Now for my challenge - today I decided to look for a particular message and changed my View to "By Sender" and then returned to "Messages" View. When I returned all my formatting was gone for "Customize Current View" (all my fonts, colors and automatic formatting I had set up for different types of messages coming in to the Inbox). So I had to go through reformatting everything but noticed that the POST option was missing also. In the From, Subject, Received etc. area there was a row that I could click on and make myself a POST (it also displayed a little push pin icon in the Icon column). I really don't know what it was for but I liked making myself quick little 3 to 4 word notes there and now it is gone and I can't find out how to get it back. I have read HELP but looking up POST gets me nowhere. Does anyone here know what I am referring to and how to regain it and where I can get more information on using that feature? Thanking you in advance.

would that be the new item row? in customizing views, it's in other settings.

    to Mary J:
It worked! I went in and checked the box "show new item row" in Customize Current View - Other Settings and the POST feature is back! Thank you very much!

By the way, do you know what the purpose of that feature is or where I can find out more about it <img src=/S/question.gif border=0 alt=question width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

it's there to make it easier to add new items. it's available for all folder types. i usually only use it for tasks and with edit in cell enabled (same locations as new item row option), i can type in the row instead of opening a form. for simple things like notes and tasks, it works good.
