Last year, I installed Office 2003 Pro.
The IE Quick Launch Bar has a shortcut to Outlook, named "Microsoft Office Outlook 2003", that has:
1. "Target location" has no entry.
2. A"Target" of "Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003", which is dimmed.
3. "Run in separate memory space" is unchecked and dimmed.
4. "Run as different user" is unchecked and not dimmed.
5. "Comment" is "Send and receive e-mail; manage your schedule, contacts,
and tasks; and record your activities by using Microsoft Office Outlook."
6. The size of the shortcut file is 2465 bytes.
Today, I installed Office 2003 SP1.
The install added another shortcut named "Launch Microsoft Office Outlook" to the Quick Launch bar. The shortcut has:
1. "Target location" is OFFICE11.
2. A "Target" of ""J:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOFFICE11OUTLOOK.EXE"
/recycle".
3. "Run in separate memory space" is checked and dimmed.
4. "Run as different user" is unchecked and not dimmed.
5. "Comment" is blank.
6. The size of the shortcut file is 541 bytes.
Why are the shortcuts so different?
