user being logged out (Office 2000 Pro)

Fresh installation of Windows 2000 Pro patched at SP 2 and all other patches. Office 2000 Pro. When a user exits a spreadsheet or in some cases makes any changes to an excel spreadsheet he is immediately logged out of Windows. This behavior does not occur in either Word or PowerPoint.

Office was initially installed and patched to SP3. After the problem began happening, Office was removed and reinstalled to the base, unpatched level. Initially that appeared to solve the problem but now the problem is re-occuring.

Has anyone seen this problem and know of a fix?

    Thanks,

    peter

Thanks for the url. I tried the /automatic and the /regserver command line switches. That had a strange effect. It took the excel and word icons out of the program menu and placed shortcuts on the desk top. There are no addons or customized toolbar icons. For now the problem seems to have abated so I am crossing my fingers. I appreciate the help.
