    Clip art inserted incorrectly (2003)

    <P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by jscher2000 on 03-Sep-04 18:14. Updated subject line to something more descriptive for reference by other Loungers.)</P>When I insert a piece of clipart into Word, the result is, literally, an image that contains the name of the clipart I really wanted to insert.
    For example, "MPj034.....wmf". The same thing happens if I insert an image of any type. If I access an image in another window, even
    Clipart Organizer, and then copy from it and paste into Word, all is well.

    I've looked at the Microsoft Office Help and found nothing applicable. Any help appreciated!

    Thanks.

    What steps are you using to insert the clip art? If I click the pictures in the "search results" in Word 2002's Insert Clip Art Task Pane, I get a standard picture inserted.

    When I open your document in Word 2002 and press Alt+F9, the field codes are very uncharacteristic for pictures. Maybe this is something new in Word 2003 (but I can't imagine why).

    The steps are: Insert-Picture-Clipart ---- browse to the clipart, get the one I want, and either double-click it or right-click and insert. Standard stuff, I think.

    Thanks for the help - I greatly appreciate it.

    Okay, here's a clue. When I open the file using the "Recover Text From Any File (*.*)" filter as the file type, it contains three instances of text similar to this (comment tag b r o k e n to allow Lounge posting):
    <pre>D:TEMPOR~1TEMPOR~1Content.IE5626XDTOMMPJ034~1 .JPG
    <script language="JavaScript">
    < ! - - // Start of AdSubtract JavaScript block; you can ignore this.
    // It is used when AdSubtract blocks cookies or pop-up windows.
    document.iMokie = "cookie blocked by AdSubtract";
    document.iMferrer = "referrer blocked by AdSubtract";
    function iMwin() {
    this.location = "";
    this.frames = new Array(9);
    this.frames[0] = this;
    this.frames[1] = this;
    this.frames[2] = this;
    this.frames[3] = this;
    this.frames[4] = this;
    this.frames[5] = this;
    this.frames[6] = this;
    this.frames[7] = this;
    this.frames[8] = this;
    this.length = 0;
    }
    // End of AdSubtract JavaScript block. - - >
    </script></pre>

    What if you temporarily turn off AdSubtract? Does that fix it?

    Re: Clip art inserted incorrectly (2003)

    Yup, Ad Subtract was interfering. I have a suspicion that the appearance of this problem may have something to do with SP2. I've successfully run Ad Subtract and inserted Clip Art for quite a while before SP2. Anyway, thank you very much - it is so wonderful to have a very knowledgeable person take the time to help. I greatly appreciate it. Thanks again!
