SP2 on laptop problems (XP Pro SP2)

I installed SP2 on my PC with no problems. However on my laptop, it installed "fine" except for only a small percentage of my programs now work.

ICQ, Word, Excel all work fine, but MSN, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer won't even load!!!

Any others with similar problems? How do I get around this issue?

Also doesn't XP-Pro have "scanreg" somewhere? I'm trying to get to my registry settings before the patch.
The only option it gives me is in the F8 mode to load only the "last" good configuration. Shouldn't there be a list somewhere to choose from?

Try System Restore. Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.

Ahh, thank you. I was just getting ready to do this and decided to first go into Safe Mode and all seems to work fine and all programs loaded there.
    So, I rebooted into normal mode and then everything worked fine. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20> <img src=/S/cloud9.gif border=0 alt=cloud9 width=25 height=23>

One thing I do like better is their wireless network settings.
