    Async progress bar

    I've created an application with .Net written in VB. I does a lot of ODBC work and has a progress bar which works fine so long as the application does not loose focus. If another window gets focus the progress bar ceases to update even it focus is returned to the application's window. In fact the whole window no longer repaints reliably until the application finishes its work and waits for more user input.

    What can I do to keep the progress bar updating even when the window does not have focus?

    Re: Async progress bar

    Try putting an Application.DoEvents() statement after incrementing the ProgressBar value.

    i.e.

    ProgressBar.Value=NewValue
    Application.DoEvents()
