    Global Template Size (VBA/Windows 2000/Word 2000)

    Hello All,

Is a global template that is 1,200 kb too big? Is there a limit that I should be aware of so that Word can keep running efficiently?

    Thanks,

    Hi Kyle,

Don't know if there's really a limit, but I have a 1,800 Kb global template that is working just fine, without any loading problems. And this big file is send from a networdk folder to the local machine at each and every logo-in of our users.
I think I've read somewhere that (in VBa Word 97) there's a practical limit of 64K lines for each module in a template. Above that, things could get unstable.

The bigger the tenplate, the longer it will take to load.

Running efficiently depends on the design of the code and resources required by the code.
It is usually very easy to improve the performance of VBA code by a significant amount, unless proper design and implementation factors were considered prior to and during coding.
