    Riched32.dll

A program I'm using needs this *.dll and apparently my Windows 98 machine does not have it. I've been told I can extract it from the CAB files on the Windows 98 disk, but somehone it isn't there... Anyone know where in Microsoft's web site I can get it?

The others beat me to it, but as a general suggestion, have you tried SFC as an easy means of extracting files from your Windows CD? Riched32.dll is on the 98 CD, but it will be buried in a .CAB file. SFC will find it for you and allow you to backup any existing copy. Much easier & safer than fiddling manually.

Riched32 has been the subject of a lot of change. This article might be of interest.

    Hi Alan:
You might be interested in an article Fastest Way To Extract Cab Files. I've tried it and it is much faster than going thru SFC.

Thanks Phil - that's a neat solution... filed away already. In my experience though, SFC works very quickly; although this may be due in part to having a copy of the installation files on my HD.
