    PATH

Where is my path being set. I tried changing AUTOEXEC.NT like the help file said but that did not change the path. Since the path was not even being set in AUTOEXEC.NT before I added the statements, it has to be set somewhere else.

    Re: PATH

    Hi Ronny,

Which particular path do you mean? If you type 'PATH' at the command prompt, you'll usually see a number of defined paths separated by semi-colons ';'

    Re: PATH

Control Panel => System => Advanced > Environment Variables = > Sysytem variable => Path and you can then edit it.

That's the XP way, and something very similar (if not identical) applies for Windows 2000.

AUTOEXEC.NT was a horrible bodge/kludge in NT4, and required you to log off/on before the setting got changed. I think it got abandoned as a waste of space (but the Help File didn't realise...)
