    'Read' all messages

I've been away for a week & am amazed at how many new messages there are. Is there a quick way to 'mark all messages as read? I suppose that if I ignore them long enough they'll go away anyway, but it'd be nice to clear them out & start fresh so to speak.

    Thanks.

Thanks. I did find it, eventually-then came back here to post a 'never mind' and found your answer.

    Now that I'm caught up I guess it's time to get back to work. <img src=/S/frown.gif border=0 alt=frown width=15 height=15>

I've also found that if you see a forum that shows in Control Panel, say, two new threads and four new posts, you can access that forum, not read any but then click back to Control, it will show all new threads and posts as being read. This only shows that way in Control. If you go back into the same forum thread, it will still show posts that you haven't yet opened.

    Re: 'Read' all messages

I, too, have noticed that behavior so I had that as a 'last resort'. But there are quite a few forums here so I was looking for a shortcut-and the one that was recommended doesn't leave the 'new' flag on the posts either. Not that that particularly bothers me but if I'm going to clean things up then I figure I might as well do a bang-up job.

    Thanks.

I also think that if you visit a forum (at least the ones on my control panel) and DON'T read all the new posts, somewhere along the way they STOP being flagged. I just don't remember if it take two or more visits or the passage of a little time or what. I do know that I don't always read all the posts in every board I follow and the red flags do go away.

Edited to add: Just for curiosity, visited the Web Design forum a number of times and intentionally did not read ONE thread, marked with a red flag. Each time I visited the forum the flag was still red. However, on computer re-boot and returning to the Lounge, the red flag is now gone. Don't know if that's across the board or not.
