    Day After Day

Identify the odd one out and why?

    Re: Day After Day

Well it is obviously <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold"> Monday because everyone hates Mondays. Or it could be Wednesday because it is the only one with 9 letters. Or how about the ones that end with the letter 'y' - they are all odd.

I guess I settle with Tuesday because it is the first day with a letter count that is odd.

    I'd have to say it's quite obviously <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">Tuesday - it's the only one without a vowel when rot13'd: Ghrfqnl</span hide>

    Re: Day After Day

    I've finally settled on <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">Wednesday</span hide> because when it is said in <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">German</span hide>, it is translated as <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">midweek</span hide> and doesn't end with <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">'g' (for tag)</span hide>. Rob cleverly moved Sunday to the end (thus not placing <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">Wednesday in the middle</span hide>)to confuse us.

    Re: Day After Day

    None is correct, so far.
A clue if needed: <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">One of the words in the list is structurally distinct from the rest.</span hide>

    Oh, in that case, then <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">Thursday because it's second letter isn't a vowel.</span hide>

Sunday, because <span style="background-color: #FFFF00; color: #FFFF00; font-weight: bold">it is the only one that can be (phonetically) preceded by "ice-cream", it is the only one not followed by a comma, and it is the only one consisting of two (English language) words that can be used on their own.</span hide> ?
