I can't find a reference to this in the knowledge base.

A field set up with both a Bookmark range <A SEARCH=1 HREF="dosearch.pl?Forum=All_Forums&Match=Entire+Ph rase&Old=allposts&Words=r+switch">r switch AND a cross-reference <A SEARCH=1 HREF="dosearch.pl?Forum=All_Forums&Match=Entire+Ph rase&Old=allposts&Words=t+switch">t switch appears to employ the cross-reference switch twice.

An Index field like this:

{XE "main:sub" rUnderL3S1729ActiveIfthiscel t "Yossarian"}

incorrectly produces an index table ({Index}) like this:

main
sub. Yossarian. Yossarian

An Index field like this (removing the cross-reference):

{XE "main:sub" rUnderL3S1729ActiveIfthiscel}

correctly produces an index table ({Index}) like this:

main
sub, 2

An Index field like this(removing the range):

{XE "main:sub" t "Yossarian"}

correctly produces an index table ({Index}) like this:

main
sub. Yossarian

I have read the Word97SR2 help files, and had almost determined that the r and t switches ought to be exclusive, since one tries to produce a page number and one tries to replace the page number.

I thought it odd that there seemed to be no reference to exclusivity in the help files, or in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
