    Lookup Fields (Access 2002)

I have a lookup table in Access which regfers to a table which has a unique ref and the data (i.e. course code, course name). How can I get Access to display both columns in the field and not just the drop down.

    Re: Lookup Fields (Access 2002)

Is this being done in a form or is it being done in a table? In a form you can do it by creating an expression that combines the two fields using Concatenation ([CourseCode] & " - " & [CourseName]) in a query that is the rowsource for the combo box. If you are doing it with the table, the general recommendation is don't - lookup tables at the table level impose a substantial performance penalty, and tend to confuse users. To see what I mean, try sorting a table on the column that uses a lookup field. FWIW, letting users see data at the table level is generally considered undesirable as well.
