Flag automatically appearing (Outlook 2000 SR-1)

When I send out an e-mail marked with high importance (!) Outlook is automatically attaching a follow-up flag to the e-mail, even though I do not want one. Everyone receives it in their inbox with the flag attached, and since I sometimes have to send company-wide, this is not a way to get popular!

I have checked all the options I can think to look at, searched the Microsoft Knowledge Base and searched this forum -- but I can't figure out how to keep the flag from attaching to all my high-importance e-mails.

Even if someone else sends me an e-mail that is marked high importance (with no flag) and I turn around and forward that to someone else, it will attach the flag.

    Any ideas where to look?

Could you possibly have a Rule turned on that does this? Or an add-in of some kind? Doesn't sounds like the default behavior.

Well, when I first read your post, I thought "no way" because I would never make such a rule, and thought I had already checked that several times. But I went back into rules, and sure enough, buried in there was a rule that did just that.

All I can think is that -- because I work a support help desk -- sometimes on the phone I "walk" a user through a procedure to instruct them on how to do it. Perhaps I was walking someone else verbally through how to make a rule, and ended up setting it up on my machine without thinking.

Sometimes I just don't think of the most obvious possibilities! Thanks so much.

Spend enough time on this board trying to solve Rules Wizard problems and you'll end up with a whole bunch of strange things in there. <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>
