    DSL Line

    Can you hook up more than one DSL modem in different places in a house and use the Internet simultaneously from each location ? Thanks in advance for any help !!!

    Only your telco can answer this with certainty, but in any case that I am familiar with, the answer is no. A router (wired or wireless) however, will allow all of the computers in the house to connect using one DSL modem.

    John is correct. The only way you can use two modems is if your have two accounts (2 IPs) from your ISP - which means your monthly fees will go up. A router is the way to go for two reasons. (1) It allows you to hook multiple PCs to the network, and (2) it will have NAT (Network Address Translation). NAT assigns new IP addresses to each node (computer) on your home network. The Internet only sees the IP that was assigned by your ISP. This acts as a very effective hardware firewall and is only a one time expense.
