explore 'stick' view to details (xp home sp1)

Can anyone advise how to set the view setting in Windows Explore to default to "details" display? Every time I click a different folder, the view always displays as Tiles and I have to manually change to Details. Any help is appreciated.

Have you selected the "Apply to all folders" in the Tools opton area and then the view tab?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

If you have tried the Tools > Folder Options route without success, there is an issue where XP can only remember the views for 400 folders by default. Try the thread beginning with <post#=306603>post 306603</post#> and the links within.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Such an easy solution. Relieved my aggravation, too. Knew somebody here in the Lounge would solve my "problem". Not too familiar with XP, yet (can't you tell). You're a good man, Dave A --- and smart, too.

    Thanks again
