    % Complete (2000)

In my project file, if I change the duration of a task, the percentage complete changes, is there a way to turn this option off?

    Thanks

    Re: % Complete (2000)

Are there any resources assigned to the tasks and what type of task is it, Fixed Work and Effort Driven, Fixed Duration, etc.?

The simple answer is "not really".

Percent Complete is calculated as %C = Actual Duration / Duration. Once a task has been statused, that is, the % Complete is no longer zero, a number of procedures are initiated. These are:
    - Setting the Actual Start Date
    - Setting the Actual Finish Date
    - Setting Actual Duration
    - Setting Remaining Duration
    - Setting Actual Work and Actual Cost

So, for statused task, when changing the duration the %C is re-calculated.

For effort driven tasks with resources, you can go to tools, options, calculations, and uncheck updating task status updates resource status which may help.

Sorry for the long winded answer. Does this help any?
    Regards,
