Re: Track changes colour Custom (Word XP SP3)

    Hi Diana:
I only have Word 2000, but that option never existed that version & I think it didn't exist in Word 2002. Are you sure that it's supposed to exist in 2003?

I also have Word 2002 SP3, and I don't have it either. Is it something new and non-backwards-compatible in Word 2003?

No custom color in the dropdown list for me, on Word 2003 SP1 or Word 2002 SP3

Re: Track changes colour Custom (Word XP SP3)

    Hiya

Yes it used to be in Word97 as a default. We have Word 2002 & Custom is not in the track change color drop down list.
I've worked it out although its abit fiddly.

1.Open up your Word doc or Normal.dot
    2. On the Format menu, click Styles and Formatting.
    3. In the Show: select Custom
The Format Settings dialog box appears:
    4. In the Styles to be visible list: scroll down & locate Comment Text> select the checkbox Comment Text> click OK
    5. In the Styles and Formatting pane the Comment Text is displayed> right click Comment Text>Modify - apply the format attributes.
    6. Goto menu Tools>Options>select tab Track Changes - in the Colour: drop downlist - Custom will be displayed.
After the setting has been applied, in each Word session the setting will be displayed.

The fix is applied locally to Word. Is there a registry key that exists so we can roll-out to all the firms pc's.

My drop-down doesn't change! Must be some different between our settings. I always use "By Author," so maybe that's why?
