Macro Question (2k)

Hi, I have an excel file exported from my database with a ton of data for different items. Each item has a date associated with it, and then each item has categories where an X may or may not be entered. The task of the macro would be to combine the same items with like dates as well as their categories with X's in them. This could be output in a seperate file, or the repeating item & dates can be deleted as the macro progresses through the list. Does anyone know how to go about doing this?

Why not create a Totals query in the database? Or if you really need to do this in Excel, try creating a pivot table based on the exported data (or on the original data in Access - Excel can use Access data as source for a pivot table.)

Hmm... No it doesn't have to be done in excel, for some reason I just thought it would be easier. But I think your query suggestion is a better idea. Still, I'm not quite sure how I would go about doing that, but I guess i'll ask that in the access forums [img]/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif[/img]
