    Cursor (Win2k/O2k)

Probably a dumb question, but ...

After a number of years developing databases, someone asked me if the cursor could be changed to the "windows hand" when it's over a useable control button. The question hasn't come up before and I can't seem to find it in help.

    TIA,
    Dick Arlington

    It certainly can.
See The Access Web for how to do it.

In addition to Steve's reply, I have attached a zip file with a demo database and a hand cursor file. The cursor file should be placed in the same folder as the database. The code behind the single form in the database shows how to handle the mousepointer; there is also a module with the api declarations.

    Hi Hans

Having followed a link to this thread I have discovered that you can achieve the hand cursor without using a .cur file.
I have only tested this using WinXP but I would be surprised if it didn't work for Win2K.
    See attached demo.

Thanks, that is easier than providing a separate .cur file. It should work on all 32 bits Windows versions, but there are some newsgroup threads about LoadCursorByNum failing.
