    Change default calendar (Outlook 2003)

    Greetings!

I have OL2003 at my office, with the main calendar set up for events at the office (well, church really) and a secondary calendar for my personal duties (email meter reading, finish bulletin, post meeting minutes, that sort of thing). I had been using Outlook 2000 previously and of course didn't have the multiple-calendar option, and so used it for the church activities solely. What I've just realized I'd like to do is SWITCH the calendars, so that my task calendar is the one in which alarms and so on work (because I need reminders!) and the church calendar is the secondary one, because it's really just for printing, the alarms and reminders are not needed there. Is there some way to swap them that is relatively easy?

I saw a post here that mentioned viewing calendar items in an "events" view and selecting / dragging all from one calendar to another - meaning I would make a temporary third calendar, drag my items to it, drag the primary calendar items to my old calendar, then the events from their holding pen in the third calendar to their new home in the primary calendar. Would that way work, and is it the best way?

    Thanks for any help!

    Regards
    MaryB

Yes that would certainly work and be quite quick

An alternative is to {Ctrl/drag} you prime calendar to "Outlook today" - this will make your third copy in one hit (Named "Copy of ..")

Then delete entries in your prime calendar
Do the copy from your current secondary as you described
    Rename "Copy of ..."
    Delete your secondary

You may know this - but if anything goes wrong - the entries will all be in the deleted folder and can be retrieved if they have to be <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
