Two browser windows pop up with each click (2003/S

I've made Mozilla Firefox 0.9.2 my default browser on a newly installed WinXP system. If I click a hyperlink in an email message in my Outlook readin pane I get two broswer windows popping up. Has anyone else seen this happen, or do you know how to fix this "feature."

Try a search here and on our Other Browsers board, and look for a thread regarding the link browser dialog. The solution refers to certain registry keys and/or other fixes for bad behavior involving links. Hope that helps.

By the way, there are some useful new features in the "1.0 Preview" release, although I'm not sure what I think about the Find bar.

Thanks for the tip in the right direction.

The fix involves going into "My Computer" --> Tools --> "Folder Options" --> "File Types"
Look for "URL: File Transfer Protocol" and edit it to remove the check in the "Use DDE" box. This fixes the problem of the browser popping up multiple times when you click a URL from inside an Outlook message.
