Re: can't maximize browser

Perhaps the IE window has somehow moved off the visible screen. Does the window reappear if you start IE, then right-click an empty part of the Windows task bar and select 'Cascade Windows' or 'Tile Windows Horizontally' (or Vertically)?

can't maximize browser

Edited bt <!profile=WyllyWylly>WyllyWylly<!/profile> to reduce size of attached screen shot.

Just now I notice that for some reason I can't view my IE browser window. When I click IE in either the desktop or the quick launch bar (if that's what it's called - to right of Start), the page is displayed but it stays minimized no matter what I do (see the pix attached).

When I view Properties for the IE icon (right-click desktop icon or the quick launch bar icon), I noticed in the Shortcut tab a field "Run: Normal window" (choices are normal window, minimized, maximized). I tried all three settings but it none of them made the window visible.

Any ideas on what got messed up to make this happen?

Thnx, Deb

Re: can't maximize browser

No, it hasn't moved off the screen. When I first click the icon (where ever it may be, even if I launch IE via Start/Programs) it immediately locates it self minimized in the task bar. Right clicking this minimized window and selecting 'maximize' does nothing.

I was able to get it working normally only by rebooting my PC but I wonder what happened to cause this. More curious than anything as reboot fixed it.

Thnx,
Deb

I'm glad you have it fixed, but the symptoms you describe are consistent with what Hans has said. Rebooting may have fixed the problem, but if it was off the visible edge of the screen before rebooting, it will show up on the task bar, but not on the screen. Cascading or tiling windows will often fix that.
