version & language probleme (2000 sr-1 and xp)

I have a version and language problem, i think it is related to utility.mda. I have a mdb in Canadian French 2002, I worked on it and English XP but in 2000 format
I get error message that the left function is undefined. This query work well last week. Is there a quick fix?

The usual cause for standard functions such as Left not being recognized is a missing reference.
    - Activate the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11)
    - Select Tools | References...
    - If you see a reference starting with MISSING (or its French equivalent), note its name, then clear its check box.
    - Repeat until no MISSING references remain selected (ticked).
    - Click OK.
    Does this solve the problem?
