    Hello,

Attached screenshot shows error I get when I try to UNSHARE an Excel File.
    The help file instructions say:

"On the Tools menu, click Share Workbook, and then click the Editing tab.

But when I click the "Share Workbook" menu option, I get this error

The file is open by another user. Ensure that all users have closed this shared workbook and then try to unshare it. This is all I can give you. If you have tried this, stay posted for other responses!

    Try this then:
    1. Remane the workbook in windows explorer. see if it opens then without this share violation.
    If this does not work:
    2. Copy the data (not the sheet) and paste it into a blank new workbook. save the workbook and close and open. see if this has fixed it?

Sometimes restarting the PC helps to unlock the file.
There might be a (hidden) Excel process still around that prevents Windows from releasing the file.
