Is there a way to make a selection of "150% view" permanent in office? I'm using a new 17" monitor and prefer this full text page view but I have to continually select 150% view each time I go begin a new letter and this is getting tiring.

Thanks,
Irwin

Hi,

See How can I make Word open new documents in a certain view (Normal or Page Layout) or at a specified zoom ratio? by Suzanne Barnhill, MVP.

Hope this helps,

Hi, Tribeca -

If you open Normal. dot (if that's what you're using) and change the View setting in there and save Normal.dot, I believe this will solve your problem. Good luck.

An additional note to tag on here is that for the View setting to be retained you need to dirty the document so an actual save will take place.

Once the view is changed, add a space, and then backspace to delete it.

Question: if you make the change to the zoom setting in Normal.dot, what happens if you then create a new document based on a template other than Normal.dot - such as one of the letter templates which are provided with Word - will the setting change in Normal.dot still control the way the new document appears?

Hi Gary,

Nope, each template stores it's own zoom setting and the document zoom is set accordingly.

I think I know where I you are going with this...

If you want it to apply to new and existing documents then you would need an AutoOpen and AutoNew macro.
