    It would be nice if you told us what caused the problem, and how you solved it. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Re: SOLVED:FILE TIPE NOT RECOGNIZED (2000 sr 1)

    I'm confused. Which workbook are you referring to now, and which text file? The text file in the zip file you attached in your other recent thread caused no problems on my system.

    Re: SOLVED:FILE TIPE NOT RECOGNIZED (2000 sr 1)

    On my system (Excel 2002 SP3), I get the error message too, but the file is still opened and processed.

    The text file starts with two "illegal" characters (ASCII 12 and ASCII 13). Apparently something went wrong when the file was generated. You can open the file in notepad and delete the first two characters.

    Does the file get processed on your system after the error message?

    Re: SOLVED:FILE TIPE NOT RECOGNIZED (2000 sr 1)

    In that case, I would just suppress the error message:

    Application.DisplayAlerts = False
    Workbooks.OpenText Filename:="C:EPFPART.SOSPESE", Origin:=xlWindows, _
    DataType:=xlFixedWidth, FieldInfo:=Array(0, 2)
    Application.DisplayAlerts = True

    Re: SOLVED:FILE TIPE NOT RECOGNIZED (2000 sr 1)

    In PARTITE SOSPESE.xls, you test whether Max_10 is 10 or more. You can use similar code to test var_SOSP in IMPORTA_2761B.xls.
